Toxic Night

A couple of years ago I made a green and purple look with stars and called it Toxic Night. I really like the concept and the color combination so here is an improved version of the look. :)

The shape of the look is inspired by Kiki makeup's Harley Quinn look. Love it! :)

Poison plum by Sugarpill is probably my all time favorite eyeshadow. I love how opaque it gets when you pack it on on top of NYX's Milk.

This past week I have been working a lot. Not that I'm complaining; I love my job! But it will be nice to have a few days rest now, and I will use my free time to create some looks out of Makeup Geek's wonderful pigments. :) I really feel like creating colorful looks but also some dramatic but neutral ones.

Have a nice day and thank you for all the nice comments you've sent me these past weeks! I haven't had time to respond to all of your comments yet but I definitely will. :)

Wednesday Addams Style

Hey! I just wanted to show you the outfit I wore to work today (just because I know some of you are interested in outfit posts...).

The dress is from H&M but I've sewn on the buttons myself. The collar is another diy.

I hope you've had a great weekend! For me it has been all about work, but, given the fact that I have been surrounded by makeup all day, I've had a great weekend too! :)

Black As a Moonless Night

There are probably only a few of you who recognizes the quote from the title. "Black as a moonless night" is how Agent Cooper likes his coffee, and with that said, you can probably conclude that this is the third look in my Twin Peaks series. :)

Yeah, yeah, I know; this look turned out quite a lot like my Engel look but what the hell... I like looks like this one and I could do at least twenty more of them with different variations. :)

Since I wanted this look to be black - really, really black - I used first Black bean (NYX) as a base and then, where I want it to be even blacker, filled in smaller portions with Illamasqua's Sophie. This way, you get the blackest possible base to rest your eyeshadows on.

To blend the black into the white with a smooth gradient I used Inglot #339 which is my favorite shade of grey (no pun intended...).

I know some of you will want to see a full face version of this look, but I didn't make one due to my irritated eye (that I will leave alone until it's completely healed). I'm sorry! :(

Anyways, I hope you liked the look! :) Thanks for stopping by and hope you'll have a lovely day!

The Ladybug

Time for the grande finale of Red and Black week, a post that I have put some thought to because I have had rather high expectations on myself for this. :) Since eye makeup is my specialty of course I had to include an eye look - and an artsy one to - but I also wanted to show you one of my summer-goth outfits.

What is red, black and definitely part of a decent summer month? The ladybug of course! :D Lady bugs are beautiful creatures and probably the only bug that I wasn't afraid of as a kid. Of course I just had to adopt their elegant esthétique for one of my Red and Black week looks!

Red eyeshadow, red eyes (no they're not actually contact lenses) and black dots. What could go wrong?

I'm sorry I don't have a whole face look with this one; my right eye was misbehaving at the day I created this and didn't want to have any makeup put on it.

As you probably have worked out by yourselves by now the rounded shape of the eyeshadow is deliberate; an attempt to catch the curvy, feminine beauty of the ladybug.

And here comes the outfit! :D It is a very girly outfit and I definitely am a girly girl so I guess it kind of suits me.

Dress: H&M
Tights & necklace: Åhléns
Gloves & hairband: Glitter
Shoes: Graceland

How do I look in bangs? XD

And here's a better picture of the hairband.

Well, last but not least, I would like to give a HUGE thank you to Ms. Kitty for hosting Red and Black week this year again. :) It is such a delightful event and I enjoy reading everyone's posts!

And a big thanks to all of you who have taken your time to read my posts and send me such nice comments! I'm blessed to have such wonderful readers as all of you! <3
